Mr. Stavros Stylianou holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the Technical Educational Institute of Athens and a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems from Southampton University, with specialization in Environmental GIS and automation.

He joined the Oceanography Center at the University of Cyprus as a special scientist in the summer of 2009. His research interests include applications of Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) for environmental problem solving, and renewable energy applications. He has excellent knowledge in informatics, programming and data management with scientific publications on geographic data management, visualization technologies and decision support systems with applications to the environment, both land and sea.

He participated in many European and National funding projects and in many research missions. He is an expert in decision making and solution development related to software and technology.
