We are pleased to share that FAMOS project participated in the National Greece–Cyprus SPOWIND Workshop, held on 13 November 2025 at the University of Cyprus.

During the session “Case Study for Cyprus – SPOWIND and FAMOS projects”, Georgios Nikolaidis presented recent results from the FAMOS project, highlighting how detailed metocean analysis and spatial planning insights generated within FAMOS support the development of offshore wind in Cyprus. His presentation emphasized the project’s role in assessing environmental conditions, optimizing site selection, and complementing the objectives of the SPOWIND initiative.

In addition, Dr. Poonam Mohan delivered a presentation on “Metocean analysis for the design of offshore floating energy platforms”, showcasing detailed environmental data and modelling outputs produced within FAMOS and their relevance to the design and deployment of offshore infrastructure.

These contributions highlighted the growing capabilities of the offshore renewable energy research in Cyprus, with FAMOS providing critical data and tools that facilitate informed decision-making for offshore infrastructure development, and fostered productive discussions with stakeholders and project partners from Greece and Cyprus.
