The Oceanography Center of the University of Cyprus, in collaboration with the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), successfully held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, the National Greece-Cyprus SPOWIND Workshop within the framework of the “Spatial Planning for Offshore Wind Industry Development (SPOWIND)” project.

The workshop focused on the potential for offshore wind energy development in the Mediterranean, showcasing Marine Spatial Planning tools and the project’s innovative WebGIS online system presented by Viola De Clerck (University of Torino). The programme also included invited talks by stakeholders in Greece and Cyprus.

Participants had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss the opportunities and challenges related to offshore wind energy in the Mediterranean.
