Following the successful near real time availability of the operational predictions and observations of the CYCOFOS system through the internet, a new online system has been developed by the Oceanography Center at the University of Cyprus, the Cyprus Oceanographic Online Database (Bythos). The purpose of this system is to browse and search for scientific data and metadata information about the Eastern Mediterranean Levantine Basin and the Cyprus coastal and open sea areas. Bythos contributes to the Cyprus Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), which operates in the Oceanography Center.
