Organisation’s Name: MOON – Mediterranean Operational Oceanography Network – Mediterranean Operational Network for the Global Observing System – MONGOOS
Role: The Oceanography Centre is a founding member of MOON, which aims to consolidate and to network the existing operational oceanography systems in the Mediterranean Sea, within the aspects of the European and Mediterranean Ocean Observing Systems (EuroGOOS and MedGOSS) and the Global Monitoring and Environment (GMES). The Cyprus coastal ocean forecasting and observing system (CYCOFOS) is one of the MOON’s operational forecasting systems.
